Today in Istanbul was played 1st match of Balkan Super League round 2. Kadikoy Bulls won against Radnicki Novi Beograd with 34-10. It was first ever defeat for a Serbian team in international matches in Balkan Super League . Two years ago both teams met for the first time in Belgrade for the first ever Rugby league match for Kadikoy bulls.
„Rats“ gave solid resistance in the 1st half, which Kadikoy Bulls won 14-10. In the 2nd half Kadikoy came back in the game strong and managed to keep the score sheet empty for Radnicki while scoring 5 tries. The man of the match was Doruk Celiktutan scoring 4 of 7 tries. Wonderfull performance from Kadikoy stand off he clearly is confirming all the progress he has done in the past 2 years and will be a player to watch in the future for Turkey.
Kadıkoy coach Julien Treu said: „I am obviously thrilled with the result. We come from very far, everyone worked hard from the players to the volunteers to make things happen in the past 2 years. From the beginning I told the players nothing replaces match experience. When you start you have to go through those phases of loosing against better than you. If you are a competitive person those challenges do not scare you because this is where you learn and make most progress. Today Kadikoy bulls showed they can be competitive and this is something I am very proud of.“
